So grateful to see this, I had no idea that Kenneth Williams had an interview show and I think this was a gem!
B.S. he was and he knew,it an attractive, dashing person.
NEVER coluld like Parkinson, sounds like a disease,
Who\s the lovely high so lady ? She looks familiar
It’s a tragedy when so much talent is bound up in such a tortured soul.
Tony The Lad” 100 1924/2024❤
Much missed
I was only 12 years old when this went out, but even I winced at that "chunky self" comment at the time (and could remember it to this day)! It was a bit clumsy.
Bless him. He was such a conflicted person but he gave so much joy to so many of us. I wish I could give him a haned and lift him out of his mire.
Mavis Nicholson was an amazng interviewer.
Quand la musique ne signifie plus rien pour moi, j'écoute Nico.
Her ex-husband is now a pro-Brexit nut, who's part of the Reform Party.
He's absolutely battered, that's a career alcoholic, he would have been like that every day. Shame, to drink like that he would have some real mental battles going on inside that he had to escape from and drinking was the only way he could find relief. It only makes things worse though.
I watched her on opportunity. Knocks' her life was so sad. She seemed to be an absolutely lovely lady.
thankkk for thisss
Well, we all heading Muslim now, dear. 2024. Cambridge University's Stephen Fry, among many others, have facilitated this process for years.
not sure if it's the style of the interviewer or the calibre of subject, but there is a brightness of intellect which is sadly lacking in todaze so-called celebs. You used to see it on Parkinson, it was all a little less insulting to the intelligence. Stone me, sorry I went off a bit there.
well done for this, a lifelong fan and had never seen this. Of course, it's sad because we know the ultimate outcome. He was never bettered and had no equal. There's a slight parallel with Peter Cook, not the style but the sad end of another truly singular man.
She's light years ahead of Parkinson.
Sometimes Michael Parkinson could be very provocative, cunning and sly. I think he set up. Kenneth hear it must not be forgotten Kenneth and Maggie Smith were very close personal friends, and I think she is upset when she sees what’s happening.
We never get anything like this quality of interviewew with anyone genuinely interesting any more, it's always a script, a quick anecdote and onto 5 minutes plugging whatever they're now doing now or doing next - a junket interview really and that's all they are. Of couse we also donlt have many or anyone at all - who can hold forth, capivate, and entertain at length like Kenneth. A true star, and they're so rare to find these days - even current movie stars, they're not really movie stars, as they used to be.
I wonder did Lena really want to do all this after she won that show. Maybe that was enough.
A PART OF ME ALSO DIED AT THAT TRAGIC MOMENT, J A &BALIN,SLICK, KANTNER, JORMA, THE GROUP,R ENGRAINED INTO MY BRAIN. "MIRACLES" MY 1ST PICK(TIED WITH "SKYLARKS' " WILD FLOWER" FOR "OUR WEDDING SONG. I wonder what her career would have been, what she would have done if she hadn’t got ill
My God, these twocomic geniuses certainly trying to out camp each other, and I think I’ll call it an honourable draw?
Could listen to him all night . So interesting . Real intelligence.
This is utter shit
Even better is another interview with Parky where Ken says something like "Poor people are content" and parky gets narky.
Grace Slick is NOT singing this song, it's Marty Balin singing while she's just singing along with no mic while the camera focuses on her. Listen closely and you'll hear her harmonizing with Balin.
Don't tell Mrs. Alito- she'll 'fly her flag'.
Sung with such conviction, such a tragic end of a very beautiful talented woman
This would be a perfect example of people mistaking lack of talent for genius!
Wonder Boy
Beutiful she feels this song xx,xx
Beutiful young lady xx
Such a shame Kenneth never realised how much we all loved him! Legend
Yes.
I remember watching her as a teenager in early 80s..the way she was treated by the media was awful. Anorexia took over and she passed at an early age 😢
Comedians are usually the saddest of people.
❤ Kenneth Williams he was Hilarious 🤣 RIP 🪦🌼
Kenneth You weren't alone we all loved you..
He was a complete Nob, what a fucking DH
I agree with what others in this CS are saying and hinting at ...Ross is not a good improvisor so - sadly - in this moment he pretty much detests Vegas' schpeeling. I've not met Ross on my travels and I have met Vegas so some biased-ness may be creeping in ...but I get such a bad vibe off Ross. Just being honest.
Professor crumpet aka Stuart Farquhar was a comedy legend. And I know Kenny would probably hate me for remembering him for those roles.
Kenneth is Brilliant and Maggie Smith is Gorgeous.
Kenneth Williams was a real wit. Parkie was a total pedestrian in comparison and as boring as hell.
Legendary funny man. No one like it these days. RIP Ken
I love how Stephen Fry will always do somebody's accent, no matter how many times he has to keep coming back to it.
Could have listened to him all day. Now go watch an audience with Kenneth Williams
what a gorgeous gorgeous person
